Crown Royal and Packages From Home have come together to offer a very cool promotion.
Go to the Crown Royal website page where the charity promotion is underway. You’ll need to verify that you are over 21 years of age, then you’ll be taken to the web page that allows you to select up to four snack and personal hygiene items to include in your care package. There is also an option to share a personal message to the service man or woman who receives your care package. Don’t leave this blank! Our USA Service Members report that these personal messages are meaningful, encouraging, and much appreciated. Once you complete the form, that’s it! Crown Royal and Packages From Home will send your personal selected care package and message to an overseas Service Member, who will have their day brightened by your thoughtfulness and appreciation for their service to our great country, the United States of America!

The nonprofit provides care packages for our USA Service Members overseas AND for our Veterans who have returned home, along with several other programs. You can request that a care package be sent to a specific Service Member at no cost (although donations would help out a lot, and a PayPal link is provided should you wish to do so).
Did you know that there are over 2,700 Military Working Dogs serving the USA around the world? These highly trained, motivated and faithful dogs are invaluable in protecting and saving the lives of our Service Men and Women by detecting explosives, weaponry, and through other vital tasks. Packages From Home doesn’t ignore these wonderful, dedicated, and effective Service animals. Their Bones From Home program collects and distributes donations of important hygiene and healthcare items, food, treats and toys for Military Working Dogs. If you love dogs, and understand the true life-saving value, as well as companionship, encouragement, and affection that they offer to our Military people overseas, then you’ll want to bundle up a Bones From Home Care Package full of the recommended items:
- Canine ear cleaner
- Eye wash
- Canine bath wipes
- Grooming tools (brushes, combs, nail clippers)
- Paw pad cream
- Canine shampoo (mild, oatmeal base for dry/sensitive skin, unfragranced or light fragrance)
- 4-6 foot leashes and collars strong enough for a 70+ pound dog (even better: This linked Max & Neo dog leash is excellent and highly rated…AND for every leash sold, the company donates one leash to a dog rescue! So you get 2 charitable donations in 1 while supporting a great company and product at the same time!)
- Durable toys, such as Kong or Dogzilla
- Antiseptic spray
- Collapsible dog water bowls
- Milk-Bone brand and high-protein dog treats
- Corn Huskers brand lotion
For our veterans, the organization also has the Packages For Hope program, working with veteran outreach programs and related organizations to provide food and hygiene packages for veterans in need. While they didn’t have a list of desired items posted on the website, you can certainly contact them, or make a donation on their website through PayPal.
Other programs include Operation Thunderbox, in conjunction with Luke Air Force Base, and sponsored by Fighter Country. Serving US military personnel since 2004, the program provides a free “shop” where they can pick up necessities prior to deployment, or request items that aren’t currently available be shipped at a later date. Just like with the normal Care Packages, you can go to the website and request a care package for a specific Service Member.
